For many years, theatre at LHS was limited to a single musical production in the spring.  Curricular classes in theatre had been missing for twenty years or more, and very few opportunities were available.

In 1995, the first semester theatre class was scheduled.  The program grew each year, and today the theatre curriculum consists of Theatre Arts Survey, Theatre II, Process Drama, Ancient World Drama, Contemporary World Drama, and Video Production and Aesthetics.  The construction of a new high school with a complete theatre complex, including scene shop and dressing rooms, will allow the addition of technical theatre classes in the future.

Performance and community opportunities at LHS include a fall play, spring musical, one-act performances within theatre classes, elementary outreach programs, and the thespian troupe.
